I’ve recently discovered that my daughter loves meatballs, so as you can imagine, now it’s the time to share the recipe! You never know when she will stop liking them – you never know with kids – so I’m enjoying preparing them for the now. Also, you don’t need many ingredients for this one, so it’s easy that you have them at home already – or you can make a note for your shopping list!

Ingredients that you need:

  • 400gr meat – I used beef for these ones but I’ve also done it with pork meat.
  • 1 onion.
  • Flour.
  • Sunflower oil, salt and black pepper.
  • Grounded garlic – optional.
  • 300 gr tomato passata.

What to do:

  • Put the meat in a food processor to get minced meat.
  • Once done, add the salt and pepper and mix well with your hands.
  • Put some flour on a plate, and with your hands start doing the rounded meatballs and coat in flour.
  • Fry them in oil and set them aside on another plate with some kitchen paper. Do not cook them completely, they will get completely cook in the next steps, but this is a way to make sure they get cooked throughout.
  • Take out most of the oil and in the remaining, cook the onion, adding some more salt and pepper. Add some grounded garlic if you’d like.
  • Stir well and when the onion is nearly cooked, add the tomato. Stir well again and let cook for 3-5min.
  • Add the meatballs, lower the heat and stir well. Let cook for another 15min.

Then you have your meatballs ready!

You can accompany them with chips, oven-cooked potatoes, salad, rice or pasta. Any combination is good and definitely a great idea as meal-prep too or for a dinner during the week.

Leave me a comment if you liked it!

Have a great day!
